Your Food Oasis (YFO) exists to help end food insecurity and food waste. In the early 2000s, Brother Thomas DiNovo had a vision of a world where people had enough to eat, and food wasn’t being thrown in the trash. He began visiting stores to glean their surplus and near-expired items to distribute in local neighborhoods.

As the need grew, and more people wanted to help, Your Food Oasis grew as well. We gained our 501(c) (3) status in 2019, allowing us to pursue additional funding to serve more people.

After a few temporary “homes,” YFO was blessed to receive access to a long-term space at Crosspoint Adventist Church in Hillsboro. Thanks to this generous offer, our team of volunteers has a stable location to receive, organize, and distribute food to those in need in our community.

We now gather donations six days a week and distribute food three days a week, working hard to end hunger.
